What is Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery?

Oral, dental and maxillofacial surgery, also called oral and maxillofacial surgery, are operations performed by a highly trained dental surgeon. Treatment of diseases related to the face, jaw and mouth, correction of injuries or defects are the operations performed in this unit. Jaw surgeries are suitable operations to be performed after growth has stopped. Treatment of patients who cannot adapt to dental treatments due to their physical or mental disability, who have fear of dentists or operations, and who cannot communicate well, are generally among the services performed under general anesthesia and operating room conditions. Maxillofacial surgery applications include:
